You've been told
How much do you think you know about the world in which you live? I remember finishing college and thinking, I've got this. The public and Catholic history classes are a hundred percent true and accurate. Oswald was the lone shooter, and UFOs are swamp gas and light refracting from a shiny surface. And, oh yeah, the Weapons of Mass Destruction was worth the war on terror and the $8 trillion in taxpayer money. Everything we thought we knew turns out to be either wrong or incomplete. In today's post, I will follow up on yet another incomplete story of who we are and where we came from.
Meanwhile, the Cuban government has been hiding an open secret from the public for over 24 years. That is to say, underwater archaeologists and researchers uncovered remarkable ruins off the western tip of Cuba several decades ago.
These sunken structures, located deep beneath the ocean surface, reveal geometric patterns and symmetrical formations, suggesting they are not merely natural formations.
Odyssey 2001
Consequently, some experts speculate that these ruins could be remnants of an ancient civilization lost to history. Even more intriguing, some theorists propose a possible connection to the legendary lost city of Atlantis.
To begin with, the discovery of these ruins dates back to 2001 when a team led by marine engineer Paulina Zelitsky identified unusual formations through sonar scans. Zelitsky and her Advanced Digital Communications (ADC) team were not explicitly looking for ruins. Still, they were instead conducting deep-sea exploration to map the ocean floor and search for sunken Spanish galleons.
I've seen this before
Following this discovery, submersible vehicles captured images revealing what appeared to be pyramidal shapes, large stone blocks, and road-like structures. To clarify, the size of the ruins is about 2 square kilometers (0.77 square miles), or slightly smaller than New York City's Central Park. Also, given their depth of approximately 2,000 feet below the surface, mainstream geologists believe these structures are over 10,000 years old. As a result, their existence challenges conventional timelines of human civilization.
Furthermore, researchers have compared these submerged ruins and Plato's descriptions of Atlantis. According to ancient Greek texts, Atlantis was an advanced civilization that disappeared beneath the ocean due to a catastrophic event. Although many scholars dismiss Atlantis as a mere myth, the possibility that these Cuban ruins share characteristics with Plato's account raises compelling questions. If accurate, this site could provide groundbreaking insights into prehistoric civilizations that existed before recorded history.

Additionally, some have compared these ruins to the Bimini Road in the Bahamas. The Bimini Road is a series of limestone blocks arranged in a linear pattern, located just 15–20 feet underwater. While some researchers believe it is a naturally occurring geological formation, others argue it represents an ancient manufactured structure.
Unlike the Cuban ruins, which are submerged at a much greater depth and appear to feature pyramidal structures, Bimini Road remains accessible for direct study. If both sites are indeed remnants of an advanced prehistoric society, they could provide compelling evidence of a sophisticated culture that thrived in the region before sea levels rose.
Also, an American diver, Dr. Ray Brown, discovered an underwater crystal pyramid off the coast of Bari Island in the Bahamas in the late 1960s. As a result, his story became popular in alternative and paranormal circles, particularly among those interested in lost civilizations and Atlantis.

Eye of God
According to Brown, he was diving near the Bahamas with friends when he got separated and stumbled upon a large pyramid-like structure made of a smooth, glass-like material beneath the ocean floor. He allegedly entered the pyramid and found a floating crystal sphere held by metal rods above a pedestal. Brown claimed he took the crystal sphere with him before leaving the structure.
Subsequently, Dr. Brown passed at 89 in the early 1990s, but his crystal remains. Its most recent public appearance was on October 10, 2010 (10/10/10) at the Edgar Cayce Center in New York City and on September 9, 2009 (9/9/9). The dates are no coincidence. Further, many believe the crystal story is far-fetched; however, it is likely true, as the crystal exists. That is to say, the crystal known as the "Eye of God" is in the possession of Arthur Fanning of Sedona, Arizona.
Consequently, the connections between Bimini Road, the ruins off the Cuban coast, and Dr. Brown's crystal pyramid all lead to connections to our past. Moreover, the geological and cultural implications of these discoveries are significant. If these ruins belong to an ancient, unknown civilization, it would suggest that human societies thrived in the Americas far earlier than previously believed.
Secret to success
Additionally, the presence of what appear to be organized urban structures implies a level of sophistication comparable to other ancient civilizations such as the Maya or Egyptians. However, despite some claims of similarities to Egyptian-style architecture, no documented Egyptian-looking structures or artifacts have been released to the public. While sonar scans and submersible images have captured pyramidal shapes and large stone blocks, no mainstream media has followed up on the story for decades.
Meanwhile, as of 2025, there have been no public reports of any individual or company receiving authorization from the Cuban government to conduct further exploration of the sunken ruins. However, subsequent expeditions have faced challenges, including funding issues and bureaucratic obstacles. Some reports suggest that the Cuban government imposed restrictions or denied permits, causing the cancellation of planned missions. Therefore, the true nature of these underwater structures remains a mystery, as comprehensive studies are not allowed.

Behind the Glass
Like many other megalithic structures around the globe, the public has little to no insight into their origins. Likewise, governments and institutions are given priority to owning or protecting the sites from curious citizens. My article on Egyptian artifacts in the Grand Canyon shows just how deep the Smithsonian will go to control the flow of people and information.
Furthermore, the Cuban National Museum of Natural History has collaborated with U.S. institutions on various scientific projects. While there is no direct U.S. funding for the museum, partnerships with institutions like the American Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Institution have facilitated joint research and exhibitions. In 2016, the Smithsonian and the Cuban National Council of Cultural Heritage signed an agreement to enhance cultural and natural research collaborations.
Additionally, Smithsonian scientists have studied Caribbean archaeology and natural history for over a century, contributing valuable knowledge to the region's heritage. These cooperative efforts highlight the international interest in Cuba's historical and natural sites, though restrictions and bureaucratic challenges have limited the extent of outsiders' research into the sunken ruins.

More than you know
Beyond the Cuban ruins, several other underwater structures worldwide continue to intrigue researchers. For instance, Pavlopetri in Greece, which dates back approximately 5,000 years, remains one of the oldest known submerged cities.
Similarly, the sunken cities of Heracleion and Canopus in Egypt were lost due to natural disasters and are now resting in Abu Qir Bay. In India, the legendary city of Dwarka existed off the coast of Gujarat, while Japan's Yonaguni Monument features pyramid-like structures that seem to be man-made.
These examples demonstrate that submerged cities and structures exist worldwide, each with historical significance. As researchers continue investigating these sites, they uncover valuable insights into ancient civilizations, climate changes, and geological events. Ultimately, understanding these underwater ruins sheds light on the past and helps us prepare for future environmental shifts. Why are we being denied access?
Souls desire
In short, the sunken ruins off the western tip of Cuba indicate that there is more to the human story. Whether they are remnants of a lost civilization or merely an extraordinary geological phenomenon, their existence challenges our understanding of human history. Most importantly, if future studies confirm a connection to Atlantis, it could reshape historical narratives and redefine what we know about early advanced societies.
The question is not about our past; it is about what we are capable of creating. These findings indicate that we are much more powerful than we believe. Congratulations, you just found out that you are amazing!
