Still don't Believe?

One of the most intriguing and lesser-known incidents in UFO history is the 1941 Cape Girardeau crash. Often overshadowed by the more famous Roswell incident of 1947, the Cape Girardeau event is a cornerstone in the history of unidentified flying objects in the United States. Therefore, this piece delves into the history and details of the Cape Girardeau crash, providing a comprehensive overview of the incident as it begins the disinformation era.

The Cape Girardeau crash occurred in the spring of 1941, six years before the widely publicized
Roswell UFO crash. Cape Girardeau, a small city in southeastern Missouri, became the unexpected epicenter of a mystery that continues to captivate UFO enthusiasts and researchers. According to various accounts, the incident involved the crash of an unidentified flying object and the subsequent recovery of its occupants.

On a clear night in April 1941, Reverend William Huffman, a local Baptist minister, was called to the scene of an airplane crash to offer his services. When he arrived, he found a disc-shaped object that had crash-landed in a field.

Don't Speak, I know what you're saying

According to testimonies that emerged later, including those from Huffman's granddaughter Charlotte Mann, Huffman saw a metallic craft unlike any known airplane and several small, humanoid bodies. As a result, the public learned about Huffman's testimony 52 years later in the early 1990s.

Likewise, Reverend Huffman's information with the military was so sensitive that they instructed him to keep the incident suppressed due to a military-imposed oath of secrecy.

Here come the MP's!

Furthermore, witnesses reported that military personnel quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area and taking control of the situation. The bodies, described as having large heads, large eyes, and thin limbs, were examined before being whisked away by the military.

Over the years, eyewitness accounts have emerged, primarily through the family of Reverend Huffman. Charlotte Mann, Huffman's granddaughter, recounted the story her grandmother told her. According to Mann, her grandmother described the bodies as "not human" and detailed the reverence and secrecy with which the military handled the situation.

Moreover, local lore and other anecdotal evidence have bolstered the narrative of the Cape Girardeau crash. Some residents recall stories of unusual military activity in the area around the time of the incident, contributing to the event's intrigue.

Not so Cover up Story

The government's role in the Cape Girardeau crash has been the subject of intense speculation. Similarly, in many other UFO incidents, the military's involvement and swift cover-up efforts have fueled conspiracy theories. Researchers suggest that the Cape Girardeau crash was one of the earliest instances of the U.S. government's involvement in UFO recovery and secrecy, predating even the more famous incidents of the late 1940s and beyond.

Interestingly, official documentation has just surfaced to confirm the details of the Cape Girardeau crash. Most importantly, the narrative from the media and military has been consistent for over eighty years: UFOs don't exist, or the witnesses are less than credible. Here is an excerpt from one of the unclassified documents from the Freedom of Information Act. Who is the witness, you ask? The President of the United States.

Intelligent Life?

On February 22, 1944, Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote a DOUBLE TOP SECRET memo on White House stationary for "The Special Committee on Non-terrestrial Science and Technology." Both the title and the content clearly allude to extraterrestrial life, the former using the word "non-terrestrial" and the latter talking about "coming to grips with the reality that our planet is not the only one harboring intelligent life in the universe." Remarkably, the last four words are precisely the title of Carl Sagan's book, co-authored by the Soviet scientist Shklovsky. Unquestionably, the situation was that we had recovered at least one craft by then, probably the Cape Girardeau crash of 1941, and came to realize the wealth of technology the craft possessed.

To clarify, the "Special Committee on Non-terrestrial Science and Technology," referenced by President Roosevelt, does not appear to be officially documented in historical records. Therefore, there are no verifiable original members associated with this Committee.

Actual Letter from FDR

A Bush in the hand

However, in the broader context of UFO-related research and released government documents, names like Dr. Vannevar Bush, a key figure in American science and technology during World War II, often come up. Furthermore, Dr. Bush headed the Office of Scientific Research and Development (OSRD) and appeared in various mentions of confidential UFO research.

Consequently, the "Special Committee on Non-terrestrial Science and Technology" has been working for some time to define an explicit action. Dr. Bush had likely presented a proposal from the Committee for an aggressive separate program to apply "non-terrestrial know-how" to the war effort. Nonetheless, FDR thought that it would threaten the atomic bomb program. Thus, he carefully avoids saying "no" but says we will "take every advantage of such wonders that have come to us" after winning the war—a very gracious letter. The classification "double top secret" was a legitimate one. Finally, the signature, although not a strong discriminant, is consistent with other authentic signatures.

The Cape Girardeau crash of 1941 is less well-known and popular than the Roswell Crash of 1947. However, it seems to have ignited the U.S. to create an entire arm of the government to suppress the notion that we are not alone in the universe. Consequently, this leads me to question what else I am unaware of.

Follow the Leaders

I will leave you with this last data point. The top industries with the most lobbyists in Washington, D.C., highlight the sectors that invest significantly in influencing U.S. legislation and policy.

First, the Pharmaceuticals/Health Products sector consistently ranks highest. Subsequently, this industry channels substantial financial resources into lobbying efforts, primarily focusing on drug pricing and healthcare regulations. The Insurance industry follows closely, spending heavily to shape legislation affecting health insurance, auto insurance, and other financial products.

Next, the Electronics/Manufacturing & Equipment sector also has a strong lobbying presence, focusing on technology regulations and trade policies. Business Associations represent a broad array of trade groups advocating for various business interests. Think AT&T, Google, and Microsoft. Finally, the Oil & Gas industry lobbies intensively on energy policies, environmental regulations, and tax issues, ensuring their significant influence on pertinent legislation and regulatory measures.

In other words, the cost of your health, access to the internet, and the information on it, to the taxes you pay to fuel your travel.
