Do You Want the Moon Mary?
Today we live in an age where technology is a part of our lives. You can run a business from your phone. If you have a pacemaker for your heart, it will contact your doctor to let them know you are experiencing irregular heartbeats. You can instantly download movies to your tv and still host a Zoom conference call with someone in another country. However, some of us refuse to believe that life exists in and outside of our solar system.
Let's look at our Moon for a moment. Our Moon is the only Moon of its kind in our solar system. Furthermore, new data suggest that it is the most unique Moon in the Universe. Yet, no one thinks twice about it.
Why does the Moon exist in the first place? Above all, it serves as a counterweight to Earth's obliquity—its orbital axis as it revolves around the Sun. Think of a child's spinning top. If the Earth didn't have the Moon, it would lose energy and "tilt" by a degree every several hundred thousand years. No other planet in our observable Universe has to have a large moon to stabilize that obliquity.
Without the Moon, some astronomers have hypothesized that the Earth's axis could swing as much as 85-degrees during periods of precession, putting it over the poles and then swinging back over the equator, which would create devastating effects on climate.
As a result, the last ice age came because there was a precession of one degree.
The Dark Side
Moreover, its planet-to-moon ratio is a hundred times greater than any other planet-satellite system. Add to this that our Moon is only visible to Earth on one side. That is to say; we only see one side or face of the Moon. Think Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon. The result is due to the spinning period of the Moon.
The term is Tidal locking, and it is when a body in space orbits another body in a way that the body's year and day are equal in length. In other words, this means that the body spins around its axis once for each time it orbits around another specific body in space. By having equal years and days, this orbiting body shows the same side of its face to those looking at it from the other body or the body it is rotating around. The moon orbits around Earth every 28 days, and the Moon rotates entirely around its axis in 28 days. A perfect dance takes place, and we never see the dark side of the Moon.
Rare Air
Another anomaly is that the Moon has a very thin and tenuous atmosphere called an exosphere. It is not breathable. Our Moon doesn't have an atmosphere because it is too small and doesn't have a strong magnetic field. The solar winds that hit the small world would strip away any atmosphere it might have had. In contrast, our planet has more mass to close its atmosphere and a strong magnetic field to protect it.
Okay, so that is the prevailing science supporting our unique Moon and how it and the Earth interact. Now I'd like to talk about the Moon we didn't know existed.
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
I want to introduce you to aerospace engineer, pilot, and astronaut trainer Ken Johnston. Among his other responsibilities, he worked at the Lunar Receiving Laboratory, which dealt with the processing and analyzing various samples taken from the Moon and photographs. Johnston says he handled the photos from five Apollo missions, stored, curated, cataloged, and often sent off to scientists to be studied and analyzed. It is with his work here that the conspiracies and strangeness begin.
In 1974, the Apollo program began to wind down, and Ken's superior, Bud Laskawa, told him to destroy all of what remained of the photo archive. He claims that many of the photos had strange anomalies that NASA did not want the public to see. According to Johnston, many of the pictures were altered to cover up anything weird in them, with extensive manipulation and doctoring done to hide what he says were evidence of nonhuman structures on the lunar surface.
One of the most well-known and controversial of Johnston's claims is that photos from the Apollo 14 mission supposedly showed an alien base in Tsiolkovsky, an enormous crater on the dark side of the Moon. Johnston claims that when he first saw the photographs, he could see lights and a pentagonal cluster of domes showing that it was a large facility but erased the next day. According to him, it was all airbrushed out of the photo.
Are You Sure?
Johnston is not alone in his claim that the Moon is a depot for all kinds of alien and human life. Enter Michael A.C. Michaud, Author of over one hundred published works. Michaud was a U.S. Foreign Service officer for 32 years before turning full-time to writing. During his diplomatic career, he served as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Science and Technology, Director of the State Department's Office of Advanced Technology, Minister-Counselor for Environment, Science, and Technology at the American Embassy in Tokyo, and as Counselor for Environment, Science, and Technology at the American Embassy in Paris.
Michael's direct quote: "Speculations about contact often challenge conventional wisdom, from biology to religion. Imagining extraterrestrials and what they might do irritates those most sure of an established worldview. We must reconsider what we have taken for granted."
Keep Looking
Michaud never set out to prove that extraterrestrial ruins existed on the Moon. He intended to make a coffee table book comparing photos he took of the Moon with my 8″ Celestron to NASA's orbital photography during the Apollo missions. What he saw in the high-resolution images from NASA changed his life forever. Michael saw strange, artificial-looking objects. They were only simple shapes, but it was enough to keep him looking for more.
Michael believes that if we analyzed all of the images in the photograph record, we'd find enough evidence to support the theory that we are not alone in the Universe and that the Moon had supported visitors long before we ever arrived. Check out Michael's website to see his photos and determine for yourself.
Trust in What You Don't Understand
In summation, I wanted to allow you a moment to suspend your biases and read testimony from two men you have never heard of before. I believe the Apollo photographic record is full of visual anomalies that suggest that the Moon may hold the answer, are we alone in the Universe?
